There are stimulant medications that have been effective in treating ADHD symptoms. Some of the stimulants that are used include Ritalin, Adderall, Conerata, Focalin, Metadate, Dexedrine. But then you cannot predict how the stimulant will work, for someone it can work better but for the other, it may not be as effective. Stimulants are usually the first choice of medication treatment for ADHD.
There can be non-stimulants also given like tricyclic antidepressants, bupropion, atomoxetrine etc. It is important for individuals on medication to be medically supervised. THE MEDICATION SHOULD BE GIVEN ONLY ON THE DOCTOR’S ADVICE. Talk to the doctor about the dosage and side-effects of the medication.
