The research was done taking into consideration 300000 people between the ages of 40 and 85 in 8 nations. The test found that eating five portions of fruits for good health was insufficient. Those who eat more eight or more portions of fruits and veggies on a daily basis have a 22 percent lesser chance of dying from heart disease according to the findings of the European Heart Journal.

Victoria Taylor, from the British Heart Foundation, adds, “Although we have known for some time that eating five portions a day can help to lower our risk of heart disease, it has been less clear whether eating more than this will have an even better effect.” Find out what does serving size mean?
